So one of the parts that was not original on the Circuit was the black springy gel seat instead of the white Selle San Marco Concor Profil. "No problem," I thought, "I'll pick one up off ripmeBay." Zoiks! Concor Profils go for several hundred dollars NOS, that is if you can even find 'em. Some of you may be chuckling at my newbieness. You gotta understand, in my own little world the Selle Italia Turbo was the end-all be-all of 80's cycling saddles. Boy, was I wrong!
Speaking of Turbos, I bought one a while ago off ripmeBay advertised as "New in Bag". So when I finally get it, it's in a bag alright. The dude put it in a freakin' plastic bag that once held a newspaper and the saddle had a big ol' rip on the back. What a jackass.
Luckily, I found a white Concor Supercorsa reissue on a UK-based internet site; probikekit.com for roughly $82 USD, but they were sold out. A week later I received an email from them that they had the Concors back in stock. So I check the site and there's only 2 left. I jumped on it and pulled the trigger. These guys rule - no tax, free shipping to the US! I ordered the saddle on Thursday afternoon and it was delivered the following Monday. Wat?!? Even domestic mail order houses can't send me stuff that fast.
Pics taken by a co-worker who's got the skillz. Still haven't managed to get that big ol' greasy thumbprint on it yet, but I'm sure it'll happen when I start assembling the bike again.
